Had this tune runnin’ through my head in the shower yesterday.

    • Dosido3

One of my fave instrumentals. Great any time of year! 🙂

Regarding the article Unka linked to yesterday; “The Pathologization of Dissent”, I wonder what labels ol’ C.J. has for those of us who reject the idea that “19 terrorists” turned the world upside down.

Hey now, speaking of propaganda…don’t believe your measly flipped vote makes a hill of beans difference to anyone. It’s just old hardware or your fat fingers.

    Fool Me Once

Many white workers aren’t voting for Democrats this November. And not for the reasons you think.

Remember When the Media Sold Us the Iraq WMD Lies? It’s Happening Again

Luckily, Americans aren’t as gullible in 2016 as they were in 2003, as many now keep up with the news by seeking more independent channels.
But will the next administration bother to ask us our opinion before launching into another war?

Rock star Roger Waters said to lose $4m over anti-Israel activism

This sorry tale of the persecution of a famous musician due to his moral stance against the fascist, racist,
genocidal apartheid state of Israel starkly illustrates why so many others choose not to speak out – they know that they will be attacked and it will probably end up hurting them financially, in Water’s case, to the tune of 4 million dollars. As Waters himself said in an interview, celebrities are ‘scared shitless’ to criticise Israel.

    • Shaykayvah

Though Roger can easily afford four million dollars, I still support him.
BTW, his live shows are unbelievable.

Selling ‘Regime Change’ Wars to the Masses

Propaganda is now such a pervasive part of Western governance that any foreign leader who resists the prevailing power structure can be turned into a demon and made a target of a “regime change” war, explains John Pilger.

Agrochemicals And The Cesspool Of Corruption: Dr. Mason Writes To The US EPA

In her recent open letter to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), campaigner Dr Rosemary Mason documents what amounts to a cesspool of corruption surrounding sections of the agrochemicals industry and the regulation of glyphosate (as found in Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup).

US Votes ‘No’ As UN Adopts Landmark Resolution Calling to Ban Nuclear Weapons

The United Nations on Thursday adopted a landmark resolution calling for the ultimate elimination of nuclear weapons worldwide.

As expected, nuclear powers including the United States, France, Canada, Israel, Russia, and the United Kingdom, as well as several of their European allies, were among the nations who voted against the ban.

Heyyyyy, it’s Friday, I hope the weekend isn’t as stressful as yesterday (or at least a better kind of stress…I am somewhat behind on Halloween preparations and end of month/before rent week errands…*sigh*):

      OMG!!!!!!

I fucking loved this song when it came out!
Lighter Shade of Brown is the shit yo!

Annaleigh, sometimes I think you’re my West Coast Spirit Animal. Hand to god.

      • Annaleigh

Hehehe, puts you in a Friday kinda mood, doesn’t it? 😀

      • Edwin

        Heya. Howdy. Where ya bin?

        • MeanValueTheorem

Hey Edwin! I see you’re breakin out ye ol’ jack’o lantern avatar!

          • Edwin

Tis the time of year. Love October!!

    • For Halloween this year I’m going as The Invisible Man. It’s quite an easy costume: I just stay home, turn off the lights, and disconnect from everything for an evening. 🙂

Comey received new emails. He had so reopen or look like he was protecting Clinton. Pretty straight forward.

      • Edwin

Where is everyone (not that I expect you to know, but…)?

        • I’ve been in Soon To Ship Hell, on this web-site I’m working on. The next week is going to be lots of long hours, to ensure everything is perfect.

          • Edwin

            Poor Unka. 🙁

            Good to see you.

        • towerofbabel

I don’t know. But maybe they are feeling shell-shocked from the bullshit election and WWIII like me? The only reason we, the West, would risk nuclear annihilation for a Syrian pipeline is if the petro-dollar is on the brink of collapse. That’s what I’m guessing.

          • It’s surprising me, someone who’s been interested in politics since he was 8, how utterly I’m suffering from Traumatic Stress, over the state of American politics.

        • I’ve been immersed in manic mayhem trying to keep life from going completely off the rails… but had to drop by this evening and see what my friends in exile are up to. Glad to see you on here!

          • Always glad to see you, SG!

          • Edwin

Good to see you Git. Been a while.

The Daily Show turns to utter unfunny bullshit propaganda.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk7FVJ2MKyI

    • Turns? 😉

      • 17

Yeah. It’s really really really gone to shit.

        • For me, it was that for a long, long time. From about the time Stewart took over. [shrug]

          • Edwin

Stewart made me laugh. (I just watched funny bits on the net. I don’t watch any of these shows because Korea and don’t watch TV.)

          • Personally, I found a lot of cathartic humor in Stewart’s take on current events and media criticism even if his politics were a bit too milktoast for my tastes (and he was too cozy with conservative agitators). I had hopes for Noah since his standup shows were good but the status quo politics of the show are more prevelant than ever and his humor is a severely poor fit for the subject matter.

    • The show seems to have become the “comedy” branch of MSNBC and serves only to perpetuate DNC propaganda. Gone are the days of even mild criticism of the Democrats. Stewart wasn’t perfect but he was not a blind partisan. He was a humanist first and his views shaped the narrative. Noah seems to serve the powers that be and is just happy to have a gig and tries his hardest to not cause any ripples… the worst type of comedy.

      • Edwin

I tried to give him a chance after Stewart left, but he’s not just unfunny he’s a total mindless corporate tool.

  • Dosido3

Wow, just in time for Halloween, a story about a company named Soylent (yes!) Soylent recalling two – ahem – meal replacement protein products after people got sick.
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-10-28/soylent-will-stop-selling-two-meal-products-and-rework-formula-after-illnesses

    • Seems anyone who would eat something called Soylent is just asking for it, does it not?

      • My thoughts exactly. Or “diet” gummy bears, which I understand has the same problematic ingredient.

        • Dosido3

when I need a good belly laugh, I head to the amazon reviews of gummy bears. 😀

      • Dosido3

        Hi SG! Absolutely !

  • Edwin

I’ve been watching season 3 of this this week and it has been excellent. The final 3 episodes of the season are getting ratings of 9.4, 9.6 and 9.7/10 at IMDB. I plan to finish off tonight with a three-show marathon.

    • Interesting. I’ll give it a go.

      • Dosido3

It’s a little more graphic than our history books but it’s entertaining…I am starting to feel that history is now offered in a form to justify our current practices…ie Hamilton and Wall Street attitudes, any colonial show or movie showing that tortured was used (even then!), etc.
