.Workers on Porn Detail Sue Microsoft for Injuries

Two Microsoft employees who had to watch “horrific images” of murder, child pornography and bestiality as part of their “online safety” job have sued the company after developing post-traumatic stress disorder.

The men were customer service workers assigned to Microsoft’s online safety program, responsible for deciding whether content should be removed or reported to law enforcement.

Personal note I like to share since I have gotten to know most people who frequent this site. I have finally located and spoke by phone to my brother who I have not been in contact with in 8 years. I knew he lived in Thailand but did not know where. Looks like I am in the market to buy an airline ticket to be able to visit him. He’s 71 so I want to be able to see him a least one more time, but hopefully more. If I get a flight going through South Korea I’ll give Edwin a wave from the air. I don’t plan on going until Oct unless my employee will front me some vacation time, it is possible they will.

    • Edwin

Cool. I have keen eyesight so I will totally see that.

I hope you do get to see your brother.

      • EdgarHF

The cheapest flight I can find at the moment goes through Taipei. I’ll still wave

        • Edwin

Please do. I’m always watching for that.

Why are you buying a ticket so early?

          • EdgarHF

I am afraid fuel prices might go up, after all, Trump. Hillary would have been the most progressive candidate ever and I would not fear the future. Actually I’m trying to commit myself into going. I was planning on buying a new guitar because I only have two, but I will spend the money on the trip instead. In other words it should keep me from dumping a wad of cash on a guitar on impulse.

I will call my brother tonight again then tomorrow I will see if I can scrape up some vacation time sooner. I was starting to believe my brother was dead I am excited as hell to have found him.

          • Edwin

I see. I never think about stuff like fuel prices. I guess if they go up and stay up it is cause for concern.

I find the price of flights is actually quite reasonable these days. Over the years they have not gone up that much. Flights to Canada are the same price as 20 years ago. I think that’s why they are nickel and diming with baggage fees and stuff. Airplanes are giant sky buses now. I don’t expect any special service, just a snack and a beverage, get me there on time.

I’m glad you have found your brother. I imagine there’s a story there. Where in Thailand does he live? Winter is a nice time to go. Now is a nice time to go. It’s dry season and not too hot. November to March = best time to visit Thailand.

          • EdgarHF

He lives in South Pattaya. Last time I was there while still not in contact with my brother was in May, 2012. It was hot as hell. My last time overseas was 2013 and prices look to be down about $200 since then. I had always flown ANA, but EVA really has some bargains. There are flights even cheaper but those have ridiculously long layovers for connecting flights. 24 hours is about all I can stand since I am unable to sleep on an airplane.

          • Edwin

The Chinese airlines are probably cheapest. Not always the best, but they get you there. You can probably take a taxi from the airport to Pattaya for about $50. I take one from the airport to Ban Phe Pier, to go to Ko Samet, for about $60.

If you plan to do something like that let me know. Ko Samet has beautiful white sand beaches. It’s not expensive and is nearby. You guys might enjoy going together.

          • EdgarHF

Last trip I shared a taxi with a what turned out to be a crazy Dutch guy. I’ll never share a taxi with a stranger again. I took a bus to get back to Suvarnabhumi Airport. I think it was about $4 and the bus was very nice. I did go to Nong Nooch Garden last time which I really want to go to again. I will look into Ko Samet. Thanks for the tip.

          • Edwin

If you want to go to Ko Samet let me know. The best place to go is TubTim (resort-bungalows). The island used to not be crowded but it’s so lovely and so close to BKK that it has become very popular. Much of the island is too crowded, but TubTim is nice. And the food is superb!!!!!!!! The restaurant is on the beach. You can walk several Kms on pure white sane beaches with crystal clear water. The beaches at Pattaya are not nice and the water is not clean.

TubTim is my second home. I have spent about one year of my life there.

            http://www.tubtimresort.com/

          • Edwin

standard bunglow is 800B per night.

          • EdgarHF

Looks like I’ve moved the time up a month to Sept after speaking to my brother again last night

          • Edwin

I hope things work out for you. That’s a long time for your brother to be “MIA”.

    • Damn! That’s Awesome!

    • Dosido3

That’s really great Edgar. 🙂 very touching that you pursued a reunion. Hope your trip goes well when you go.

FUCK TRUMP, BUT FUCK YOU TOO: NO UNITY WITH LIBERALS

“So while some may try to argue that there is room for everyone in this movement, that we have more to gain from the masses than to be alone in our ideology. It often feels like people don’t understand the gravity of what is happening in this country and around the world. The danger and high stakes we face for being a part of those marginalized groups liberals pretend to represent. They can’t understand what the reality is for undocumented people who are fearful of losing their DACA status and be deported, for those with different abilities who depend on Obamacare and Medicaid, for trans women who fear their name will be added to this year’s deadliest record of violent killings, for queer people attacked and then later placed in an ICE detention center for being a queer immigrant in Orange County, for Muslim women who are afraid to wear their hijab because people are setting them on fire, and for black freshmen in college being put on a lynch lists, because now white people have gotten “their country back”. Let’s understand that all of this racism, hate, and violence was already true and occurring in our lives before Trump. That these same oppressed groups have been ignored by those same white liberals that are now consumed and overwhelmed with a need to take action. After they have spent years ignoring us when we have screamed and stated openly that America is a racist, white supremacist, fascist country, created through the genocide and physical erasure of indigenous people, and built on the backs of Africans that were kidnapped and brought over here and forced into slavery.

Let’s understand all of this, all that has happened and continues to happen, and respect the resistance that has existed and will continue to exist even after Liberals leave because they become satisfied and content with Trump because gay marriage is protected and the Trans-Pacific Partnership was killed.

So while it might appear that the masses have awoken, what use are those masses when they are mostly white liberals filled with denial of their own complacency and contribution towards maintaining the hierarchy of violence?

The fight is against the state and all those who are in place to protect it, liberalism in effect has become the state’s first line of defense. Their role is to funnel dissent into the electoral process for the Democratic party, to keep us dependent on them through funding, and to enforce that our tactics remain weak and passive.”

    • Dosido3

wow! true. I’m already hearing the soothing self-talk of neighbors here in California…we’ll be OK, we’re a liberal state…harrumph.

      • panem et circenses

Yeah, it’s a whole lot easier for some of us to blend into the background and weather the storm than it is for some folks. I love that she isn’t afraid to get under people’s skin and force us to re-examine whether or not we’re really the allies we believe ourselves to be.
