Song of the day? Just trying to help…

    • FaunaAndFlora

You beat me to it. I was going to post this one for song of the day…

Phil Ochs ~ Cops Of The World

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgrehW44g5s

      • Dosido3

nice! I had never heard this – it’s perfect.

      • Speaking of Phil: This cover of his classic, updated during the Clinton era, is so exactly why I hate the Democratic party and its most loyal fans…

        • FaunaAndFlora

Love this song and love this version!

  • Having sick cat issues today, just got back from the vet. We’ll have to see what happens.

    • FaunaAndFlora

Oh no. Sorry to hear about your cat. Almost lost one of my cats last month. She had a head cold that traveled down to her chest and turned into pneumonia. She’s doing fine now. Hope your kitty gets better too.

      • Well, it looks like diabetes, complicated by a severe UTI. He wasn’t eating or drinking and was losing weight big time (5 pounds in 3 weeks), so we got him in on Tuesday, and the doc found elevated blood sugar, so we got him on insulin, but that didn’t help and the doc brought him in. He was severely dehydrated and was starting to enter ketoacidosis. He’s been at the Vet’s today and through tomorrow, but IV fluids have really brought him back from the brink, he’s bright eyed again, though still not eating.

The doc thinks things look good for him to pull through, but I’m going to be insulin-nurse to him for the rest of his life. 🙂

    • EdgarHF

I am expecting an excuse note from the vet posted here.

    • Edwin

      🙁

I hope your cats are okay!!

.Idaho School Cop Who Stole Thousands of Drugs Sentenced to Just Two Days in Jail After Plea Deal

Officer Paul Hardwicke, a resource officer at Blackfoot High School in Idaho, was caught with his hand in the drug jar in May of 2015. According to the Idaho State Journal, Hardwicke was immediately given a paid vacation (but not arrested) after it was determined that he had stolen thousands of prescription pain killers. The drugs were stolen out of the drop boxes that were being used as part of a drug return program at the school.

Between thinking far enough ahead to become a cop and secure that get out of jail free card that comes with it and then coming up with a scheme to get people to just bring drugs right to him for free, Hardwicke clearly was way ahead of the game. He slipped up a little at the end and now he’s gonna have to go get hired by another police department after his grueling two days of hard time, but he had a good plan going in.

.“OpKKK” – Anonymous Unmasked Klan Members by Friending “Blue Lives Matter” Supporters on Facebook

They say that an organization can be judged by those who support it. And that birds of a feather flock together. So, it probably says a lot about the institution of policing that the key to infiltrating the KKK is to become friends on the internets with people that self-identify as “Blue Lives Matter” supporters.

    .Word of the Day

    démà vu

    day•ma voo’ (noun)

A subtle sensation experienced by Democrats when their party appears
poised to reiterate at its internal leadership level the same mistakes
it just fucking made not only in the last general election but for the
last two midterms, thousands of local races, other midterms, most of its
media appearances, rural organizing, urban organizing, presidential
elections, and every fucking thing those former student-body presidents
do from the moment they wake up in the morning, look themselves in the
mirror, and vow never to piss off anyone in power.

Ex. “Hey, isn’t the Democratic National Committee election tomorrow? What’s that feeling called when–”

    “Démà vu.”

    “Oh, right. Shit.”

    • EdgarHF

What’s more important, getting elected or keeping themselves on the donor gravy train?

      • Dosido3

haha! I was thinking the same thing but couldn’t say it as well as you!

      • Edwin

Hi Edgar. You must be packing your bathing suit about now.

    • “Mistakes” implies they intended to do other than they did. I’m not wholly convinced that’s the case.

.Federal Judge Frees Nipples in Fort Collins

DENVER (CN) — Fort Collins, Colorado, cannot ban women from exposing their breasts in public, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.

Free the Nipple sued the city of 161,000 in May 2016, challenging its ordinance No. 134, which banned girls and women older than nine from exposing their breasts in public unless they were breastfeeding.

***No such laws exist here in the cornfield***

Yeah, well, those cornfields are crazy places. 😉

    .Who’s Behind US Downward-Mobility?

President Trump blames Mexicans, Chinese and other foreigners for the plight of downwardly mobile Americans but the real culprits are his corporatist pals who grab the lion’s share of the wealth from U.S.

Hey yeah! 3d printing joints is cool. Also someone is working on putting sensors under the skin which can com with electronics in prosthetics. An added bonus was that phantom limb pain decreased when this is used. Apparently the brain turns up the gain looking for the lost nerves and pain results. Artificial signal is enough to allow people to get off the opiates. Things WILL get better if we don’t burn first.

        Good day. ^_^

        • notisaidthepig

Hello, my friend. How goes the battle?

  • Edwin
    • EdgarHF

I may resubscribe to Jimmy’s show he seems to have backed off a bit on his “Justice Democrat” stuff.

      • Still, he’s too focused on Democratic party horse-race shit, for my tastes.

        • Edwin

In the meantime he gets a lot of great news out there for us and his show is kinda fun to watch.

      • notisaidthepig

In one of his videos, he mentioned that he’s getting his own website. I was heartened to hear about it.

        • Edwin

That would be great. I keep telling him (and Jordan) to break free from TYT and start their own gig.

  • This is an issue that doesn’t get enough love, from Progressives, it seems to me. A rational population, i.e. one given a classical “liberal” education, is the foundation of a rational, progressive society. The privatization of our educational system is an incredibly great crime against the American people.

‘Alternative’ Education: Using Charter Schools to Hide Dropouts and Game the SystemSchool officials nationwide dodge accountability ratings by steering low achievers to alternative programs. In Orlando, Florida, the nation’s tenth-largest district, thousands of students who leave alternative charters run by a for-profit company aren’t counted as dropouts.

  • notisaidthepig

    Good afternoon, folks.

    • Edwin

Greetings. Just out of bed over here. First coffee. (I have 2 every morning.)

      • notisaidthepig

Edwin! Such a pleasure to run into you. I trust you slept well.

        • Edwin

I did, but I woke up to a weird dream where I was in a job interview. On the application I had only written 2 words, I told her it was because I wasn’t really interested in the job at the time, I was not dressed properly, the interviewer’s friends dropped by and we all started chatting, and I lit up a cigarette. (I don’t smoke any more.). I woke up thinking, this interview has gone off the rails and I need to reset.

          I always wake up dreaming.

    • Hi-dee-hi!

  • notisaidthepig

    Good morning.

I’m still a little giddy that Perez won the DNC position. Hurray! Does anyone need any further evidence that the Dims are tone deaf and have no interest in pursuing progressive ideas or helping the working class? The answer should be NO.

    Onward!
