Pack your bags, Veterans. There’s a new location that needs you to stand around and accomplish nothing.

.Border Wall Seen as Intrusion on Indian Land

Seven miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, in a wellness center in San Miguel village, Tohono O’odham Indians gather to exercise and, lately, to talk about the wall that President Donald Trump wants to build across 75 miles of reservation land.

“Pretty much everybody that I’ve talked to is against it,” said Joshua Garcia, the center’s health education specialist. “It’s just not right to have a wall there.”

    • Dosido3

Don’t worry…the wall will be all talk, just a promise to tease the masses. “You still need me because you still need that wall…”

  • Dosido3

Interesting article about the Oscars and celebrities. I hate it when powerful people (celebrities) punch down. I’m glad I didn’t see the tourist bit because how dehumanizing is that? Let’s use some tourists as a comedy prop. ugh.

I’m not a Tom Cruise fan, but I remember his appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s late late show. They lip synced “you’ve lost that lovin’ feeling” to a young lady in the front row. She was of course overwhelmed. Afterwards, TC shook her hand and said thank you, and thank you to her boyfriend. He knew what was happening and I thought it showed some grace and class to acknowledge it.

Oki that video hurt my head. LOL But was certainly funny. Good Afternoon everyone! So, my Dr. said the procedure I had for my kidneys should have made it so I don’t need the potassium supplement. And I took some generic yesterday.. I suppose I will skip it for now and see what happens. My BP is up from eating bad things yesterday. I couldn’t help myself. Sausage was so GOOD. I had some fatty and greasy food./nod Been so long since I could!! Back to the low sodium and sugar diet. 🙁

It’s so not fair. Good food is out of my reach! /sigh

    • oodaloop

Thanks for the update, Sho! Good luck with everything, especially the nutrition plan…there’s some nice flavors out there independent of sugar, salt & fat.

My blood pressure was 90/60 when I visited my doctor yesterday, maybe I should start eating fat and greasy food.

      • Shohanna

Oh wow! My doctor gets mad when my BP goes too low or too high. I am bouncing right now. It’s annoying as hell. lol

    • I’m just glad to see you all sparky, again. 🙂

      • Shohanna

I am glad to be sparky!! Beats being sick I tell ya that! 😀

Went to Ars Technica for the satellite story and saw this too: Get Ready for Robots Made with Human Flesh: https://arstechnica.com/science/2017/03/get-ready-for-robots-made-with-human-flesh/:

“MIT roboticist Rodney Brooks predicted many years ago that humans wouldn’t be replaced by robots—we would become them. In this paper about tissue engineering, we can see one possible way that prediction might come true.”

Plenty of fun Blade Runner & Terminator stuff in the comments there.

And this: Creepy Experiment Uses Implanted Electrodes to Make Beetles Run Faster: https://arstechnica.com/science/2016/03/creepy-experiment-uses-implanted-electrodes-to-make-beetles-run-faster/

“Just in case you were craving an army of beetle minions to do your bidding, a group of engineers in Singapore has invented a new kind of “biobot.” Fitted out with a microcontroller and electrodes implanted in the muscles of its legs, it’s a cyborg beetle that can be made to run faster or slower at the whim of its human master.”

“Similar kinds of biobots have been built before—the last few years have seen the invention of everything from ratbots to mind-controlled cockroaches—but this is the first variable-speed model. That’s because the engineers are directly controlling the insect’s leg muscles rather than driving it by manipulating signals in its brain or antennae.”

    More fun comments…

.Regime Change and Continuity of Agenda: Trump Adviser Now Chairs NED

Dr. Shelton’s role as both Trump adviser and chairperson of the National Endowment for Democracy instead, signifies a continuation, even expansion of US regime change efforts worldwide, not a withdrawal from this policy.

Nations around the world, as well as policy analysts supplying commentary and reports regarding US foreign policy, must understand that while the spokesmen in the White House might change every 4-8 years, the expansive special interests that actually determine US foreign policy do not. Dr. Shelton’s involvement in NED has spanned over a decade and continues to this day, alongside many other board of director members and the interests they represent within the US defence, finance and energy industries.

Dr. Shelton’s ascension both within NED and the Trump administration is yet another symptom of continuity of agenda, not the change many may still be waiting for in the coming weeks, months, and years.

That Oscar bus thing was weird. (Also, I find Jimmy Kimmel annoying.)

    Good morning.

    • IronPyrite_Reborn

I stopped watching the Oscars a long time ago. My cousin described the Ocsars as, “…when Hollywood gets together once a year, to suck its own cock.”

      • notisaidthepig

Same here. I’ve been living overseas and haven’t owned a tv so it’s been decades for me. I’m really not into the whole Hollywood / celebrity thing. I like good stories and so some movies and shows get my attention but surprisingly less every year. And recently I seem to have given up on even trying. Pretty soon it’s going to be a year since I even saw any series or show. Can’t say I miss it and see no reason to go back. Other things take up my time.

        • Edwin

You’re truly not missing anything. More and more I find movies to be very disappointing. They are making a lot of good TV series though; it’s not the networks it’s the other studios (cable channels?).

(I am so out of the loop of things going on over there.)

          • notisaidthepig

Hi, Edwin! The hours fill up. I just don’t have time for more stuff.

          • Edwin

That’s cool. One day if you go looking there will be a lot of series you can watch.

          • notisaidthepig

That’s what I figure as well. When I retire or whenever, I’ll have lots to keep me busy and happily entertained.

          • Edwin

I’m waiting for Feud to start on Sunday. It might suck, but I love the idea.

            http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1984119/

          • notisaidthepig

Sounds like it could be trashy fun. Enjoy!

        • IronPyrite_Reborn

Network television has become what Edwin R. Morrow feared it would become -and public television is quickly catching up with it. I, too, have little desire to see most of the movies that Hollywood spews out these days. When we bought our house in 1998, I didn’t get cable TV…and I never looked back. I watch some local news in the morning to get some traffic info. and some stations that run classic TV shows, and that’s about it.

And after all the ugliness that transpired at C&L, Alternet and Rawstory, I wouldn’t trust them to tell me that it’s light outside at high noon.

          • oodaloop

To that list, I include the Democratic Underbelly…errr Underground and Daily Kos. Both of which share the same motto: “You’re Not a Democrat and We Don’t Need Your Vote!©™”

Which apparently is also the official DNC/DLC motto.

Rachel’s biggest problem is that she tends to be a CRASHING bore.

    • notisaidthepig

Oh, that was good. Caitlin is great. Rachel is a has been that never was.

    • notisaidthepig

Do you guys think it’s true what Caitlin said that we will know in about
six months how things are going to shape up for the long haul against
      the Dims???

      • Edwin

I have no idea. I’m just sitting back and watching these days. I have lost interest in most of the fake news and I can’t stand the propaganda outlets like C&L and Alternet any longer.

If anyone wonders why I post so little “news”, that’s why. I watch a lot of youtube videos and just listen to what other people have to say. Right now I have been watching a lot of Dave Rubin videos (Rubin Report).

        • notisaidthepig

I know. It’s unreal how I just don’t watch any news in the old fashion way that I did for decades ( I was always a news junkie.) If it wasn’t for alternative media news, I wouldn’t be seeing or reading anything….like most Americans, methinks!

          • kreskin

It’s that bad now , I don’t even bother with it anymore.

        • I have lost interest in most of the fake news and I can’t stand the propaganda outlets like C&L and Alternet any longer.

          I’m right there with you!

    • oodaloop

“…the sociopaths have risen to the top because that’s what money values the most…”

And kudos to Jimmy for calling out the insanely hypocritical prosperity doctrine.

  • notisaidthepig

That video didn’t seem so strange to me. Oink! 😉
