The Russian election hack: Bullshit.

The decision is easy, if you support liberal social policies and a centrist or left economic view. Not abandoning the Democratic party is, in fact, one of the the surest signs you harbor support for right-wing, authoritarian, government. Bernie Sanders Supporters Are Deciding Whether To Be Democrats Or Go Green.

Did I just hear an “Oink”?

        • Dosido3

oh, uh oh…just going for the penultimate carnivorous treat! Sorry @notisaidthepig – if you’re still out there?…

      • kreskin

        Good one .

    • Edwin

Ha ha. The cravings begin. (I know all about it.)

    • thud

Lets open a restaurant. It’ll be like printing money!

      • thud

I can help! No,I mean really. I’ll send pictures of the BEST foods.I’m willing to make some nominal concessions .

      • kreskin

There is a Burger King in the center , further away there is a McDonald’s . I’ve been tempted , but haven’t broken down yet . Mostly pork and chicken dishes here , very little beef .

        • thud

Can you get Gatorade, Yoohoo, Reeses peanut butter cups? Slim Jims, Skittles, you know , like the essentials?

          • Edwin

You can buy that stuff in Korea now. ^_^

          • thud

            Swank!!

          • Edwin

It was a treat to finally be able to buy some of the herbs and spices I like, REAL CHEESES, good bread, and decent tomato sauce, etc.

          • thud

Oh my Ed! We should do dinner sometime. I cook up a pot of something about once a week. I make green chili, ham and beans, Italian beef, pot roasts with taters ,onions garlic and jalapenos. I use lots of Italian seasonings but it’s never the same twice. No discipline! I used to try to make my own tortillas but failed miserably.

          • kreskin

            Nope .

    • Edwin

One time, after I’d been here a few years, I saw a box of Jello for sale and my arm just shot out and picked it up. I didn’t even eat Jello back in Canada, but I had to have it. I laughed right afterward.

I’m in East Asia and the food is nothing like Western food, not even remotely. I used to get cravings for some Western things so bad sometimes. These days I live near the foreigner ghetto in Seoul and I can buy just about anything I want now. My first year here I lived in the provinces and there was nothing Western at all. Korea had just opened to outsiders for the first time. Where I lived most people had never seen a foreigner.

My first week in Korea I was like the Pied Piper when I walked in town as a string of kids would follow me. They had never seen a white person in real life. People stopped their cars to say hello.

      • kreskin

I think it’s because of the sanctions , US / western food products are almost nonexistent .

        • Edwin

Could be. Back in those days in Korea they put heavy taxes on all imported things. Plus there wasn’t a lot of demand for Western food products. But the US bases are here so there was a black market in American food. In the Korean traditional street markets there were stalls that had stuff like: peanut butter, Hershey’s chocolate, cheese slices, Spam and other American delicacies. Many Koreans had developed a taste for those things following the Korean war when the US military gave them to the starving Koreans (Spam and wieners!! … meat). Plus they were exotic foreign imports. …..(I miss the Korea of those days. It was unique.)

They still make this stew. It has stuff they got from the US troops back in the 50s like hot dogs. ^_^

.Wealth is Concentrating Too Fast to Keep Up

Remember the Oxfam report early last year that found sixty-two individuals owned as much wealth as the entire bottom half of humanity put together? It’s gone down to only six — that’s right, six — in the past year: Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, Amancio Ortega, Mark Zuckerberg, and Carlos Slim Helu. The total wealth held by those individuals increased in that time from $343 billion to $412 billion — a 20% increase in one year — bringing their total wealth to an amount equivalent to the total wealth of the bottom 50% of the whole human race.

    .Losing West Virginia

The story of West Virginia’s drift to the right in presidential elections is well known. George W. Bush’s first campaign marked a significant shift in the state’s voting patterns as it switched from reliably voting Democrat to Republican in presidential elections. This move is typically explained by pointing to West Virginia’s declining unions, opposition to climate-change regulations that would impact the state’s coal industry, and the rising appeal of social conservatism.

.We’ll See You in Court, 2.0: Once a Muslim Ban, Still a Muslim Ban

If a Muslim Ban is cleaned up to exclude Iraq, exempt lawful permanent residents and other current visa holders, is it still a Muslim ban? That’s the question presented by President Donald Trump’s decision to replace his original executive order, enjoined by the courts, with a new one. The administration’s decision to abandon the old order is wise; every judge but one who had reviewed it found it raised grave constitutional concerns. The new order will be less catastrophic in its roll-out than the first, both because it exempts those who already have visas and because it will not go into effect until March 16. But it’s still religious discrimination in the pre-textual guise of national security. And it’s still unconstitutional.

The Letter “A” (For “Authoritarian Assholes Act Against Americans”)

    Hi Unka,

you get an A+ for alliteration!! 😀

  • Dosido3

Vanity Fair can GFI. If there is one meme I am Sick And Tired Of it’s “sexist antipathy to Clinton”. Stop hiding your fucked policies behind your identity card. Sometimes people hate a person because of what they DO and not because of who or what they ARE.

PS the naked capitalism article is worth a read as a primer on dem elite tactics.

    • IronPyrite_Reborn

I am Sick And Tired Of it’s “sexist antipathy to Clinton”

Yep, the reason I find the likes of Michele Bachmann, Michelle Malkin, Sarah Palin, Phyllis Schlafley, et al so reprehensible…is “sexist antipathy.”

And I guess it’s that same “sexist antipathy” that made me vote for Jill Stein.

(funny how that works, ain’t it?)

      • kreskin

        It’s pathetic .

Um, yeah. yikes. I looked her up to get more facts. Here ya go.
      https://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/199507/crime-and-punishment

on the one hand, yeah she sounds pretty awful. OTOH, at what point do we consider people rehabilitated. OTOH, she does use the victim card quite a lot. IDK.

      • Edwin

I’m all for rehabilitation, paying one’s dues and all that, however, in light of what she did she should stay home and do something else, not be a keynote speaker at an event for human rights.

The march is a big fraud. They didn’t allow pro-life women to march because they are the wrong kind of women. What a bunch of hateful, power-hungry so and sos.

What would happen if there were a men’s march and one of the speakers had pinched some woman’s tits with pliers, tied her, starved her, burned her over 10 days, and then finally rammed a 3 foot pole up her Yoo-Hoo until she died? Would that be all good?

      • kreskin

Rehabilitation my ass , a normal human being would NEVER have taken part in such a thing , she was an ACTIVE participant .

    • IronPyrite_Reborn

      (with “friends like those…)

Linda Sarsour is a pro-Sharia feminist (yeah, my brain is having trouble digesting that one, too) and had this to say to/about Ayaan Hirsi Ali:

“Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She’s asking 4 an a$$ whippin’. I wish I could take their vaginas away- they don’t deserve to be women,” Sarsour wrote on Twitter in 2011, in a tweet that’s now been deleted, long before she rose to prominence.
