The US Government is afraid Russian election monitors are gonna mess up their rigged elections…

Apparently, Russia is messing up Little Brother’s plans for a “bigger better, extreme, Middle East.”

Syria’s army and Hezbollah and Iranian allies are preparing for a massive invasion by thousands of Isis fighters.

In the Ukraine, 30,000 pro-Russian demonstrators turned out for the funeral of militia leader “Motorola,” leading to calls for more Russian involvement.

For Rod Liddie, it’s not Russia that he worries wants a war, it’s the United States he’s worried about.

Your Weekend of Weekends.

UnkaWillbur - May 26, 2017

Here' some links to nosh on, to start of your weekend. I hope everyone's weekend is great; me, myself, I'm planning on jumping out of a perfectly…

  • Your song of the Day: Baba Yetu. The opening theme from Sid Meier’s Civilization IV.

    • EdgarHF

My wonderful Civilization VI now won’t start after its 4th crash. Their tech support sent me an email they’ll get back to me. They’re “busy”. 🙁

      • 🙁 Well, that sucks.

No problems for me, because RELOADED, the (pirate) scene group, fixed the bugs, before releasing it.

      Hey Unka,
Have you seen this London concert by Youssou N’dour from Senegal?
He is one of the most charismatic performers I have ever seen and his backup band is kick-ass.
      Highly recommended.

      • WOW, I’m loving this…

        • towerofbabel

The whole show is fantastic. I forgot how good so I plugged it into my stereo system and got the place jumping.

          • I’m about halfway through, at the moment.

  • Sad news for comics fans: Steve Dillon has passed away. I’ve been a fan of Dillon’s ever since I first read his “Abslom Daak” stuff in Dr. Who magazine, in the early 80s, and am, of course, a fanatic for his and Garth Enis’ masterwork, “Preacher.”

Preacher Co-Creator Steve Dillon Passes AwayBorn in 1962 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, Dillon made his professional debut at age 16 in the Marvel UK anthology “Hulk Weekly,” and went on to draw the Nick Fury strip. He later worked on “Doctor Who Magazine,” where he created the character Abslom Daak, and the “Warrior” anthology, and contributed regularly throughout the 1980s to 2000AD, illustrating such strips as “Judge Dredd,” “Rogue Trooper” and “Bad Company.”

Hi Unka and all, been beboppin’ around this Saturday. Hubs thinks Hill is going to win in a landslide, ,which will make her reign even more terrible. HRC thinking she has a mandate.

  • As someone who’s grown up with Native Americans, and had many friends among our local tribes, this doesn’t surprise me, in the least.

Special Investigation: Native Americans Are Being Killed by Police at a Higher Rate Than Any Other GroupIncidents aired at the hearings sound like tales from the pre-civil-rights Deep South. They range from denial of service in public places to police brutality to the failure to investigate murders. In South Dakota, the commission heard testimony about a police department that found reasons to fine Natives hundreds of dollars, then “allowed” them to work off the debt on a ranch. USCCR Rocky Mountain director Malee Craft described the situation as “slave labor.”

Why so dead ? Another incident ?

    • Blue Basilisk

It’s usually pretty dead here on the weekends.

    • Incident?

    • Oh, you’re talking about TBR-level-drama-queening from certain former tbr dnizens? None of that lately, that I’ve seen. 😉 😛

This probably won’t stay up on Youtube very long. (new movie).

    • Was watching this on iPlayer. Sadly, even those in opposition to the current power structure exhibit many of the same symptoms…

    • I should add that I think wile Curtis is a good journalist, he leaves out some obvious targets in this doc, “sculpting” things in such a way the he ends up staying inside the boundaries of the current power-elite narrative about the world.

Still, he makes some excellent arguments, if one can see outside the Overton window to which he limits himself.

    • BTW: I have it downloaded to my PC already. 😀
