Moving The Project Forward

Looks like the next leap in the Plutocrats’ grand scheme is getting ready to be taken: “Revoltin’ Joe Leiberman, is going to get an appointment in yet another GOP administration, further reducing the, now minor, differences between the Ruling Class parties.

This is an all-to-easily spotted pattern, that has been foisted on the American people, to get their Overton Window pushed as far to the right as possible: Jimmy Carter starts the destructive deregulation, Reagan ramps it up to 11; Shrub starts the vile Drone Murder campaign, Obama cranks it to 11. Lieberman’s appointment is also certainly as a nod to the insurance companies Lieberman has shilled for, since he left government to cash in.

Certainly, as Trevor Timm pointed out, at the CJR, “Joe Lieberman atop FBI would be a First Amendment disaster.” Because, like his pals, the Clintons, Joe’s not just an economic conservative, he’s down with every vile authoritarian social policy as well!  But more than that, he is an icon of the monopoly on power that servants of the billionaire class have, in US government today. The Democratic party is part and parcel of that problem, and we can’t change that, it is damaged beyond repair, and we need a new one.

It’s at this point you’d normally see some apologia towards Bernie Sanders, but that won’t appear here. What’s clear is that Mr Sanders is as committed as any other Democrat to supporting the policies and goals of the billionaire class, and he never intended to win, conceding the primary before it was truly over and supporting the awful neoconservative, Hillary Clinton.  Like other PINOs, such as Elizabeth Warren, He talks  lot of shit about supporting progressive values, but when push comes to show, they’re right there on the front-lines, supporting endless war, the security state, the looting of the American Republic, and on and on. Warren, Sanders’ and all the other Dems consistently use this bullshitting about progressive values as smokescreen to take advantage of poorly informed, self-described “liberals.” They are, and have been the DNC’s shepherds and have continued in that role, past the primary. It’s time Progressives stop falling for it.

All this just reinforces the idea that Progressives just have to stop putting good money after bad, and shooting themselves in the foot, by having anything to do with the politics and propaganda of the Democrats, it’s almost as bad as directly supporting the Republicans. It certainly aids the Ruling Class parties in continuing their class war and the looting of America.

But starting fresh is not the way to go: New political parties don’t happen quickly enough to save us and they’ve got an awfully high failure rate. This means getting involved in the running of our local Green parties and getting serious about electoral success, by talking to, and recruiting voters that are outside of the process, now.

The question is, are Progressives actually committed to changing the system, or are they content to strike a rebel pose on the fringes, giving themselves a dopamine hit, and helping to stop change at the same time?

So, what do you think? Will progressive finally take action? Is the Green party the vehicle to do it? Can the DNC continue to bamboozle enough people who think of themselves as Progressivism, to keep a revolution from happening? Who will wipe that shit-eating grin off of that scum Lieberman’s face?

It’s clear for anyone who has eyes that the Dims are not the party of the working people. There is very little difference, if any, between a Dim and a Repub. People can see it now. However it will take time for this to filter down to the masses. But they’re getting there! I always use my family as a barometer and they certainly are getting it, if ever so slowly.

I think true progressives that want the system to come tumbling down are taking action. Like Caitlin Johnstone says we have to keep talking and talking and talking. Call them out on their bullshit. And it has to be nonstop. The corporate media is losing its grip and they are aware of it. That’s why they are trying to kill net neutrality for one. Silence helps them so we have to speak and speak loudly.

I think the Greens are amenable to us progressives so that’s where we can go to for now. The Dims aren’t going to die any time soon. I fear we’re stuck with them through the 2018 and 2020 election cycles. I know lots of people aren’t happy with the Greens but I have more in common with them than I do with any other viable party. Why do you think the Dims worked so hard to undermine Stein? They can be a real force against the Dims.

The DNC is not fooling anyone. At all. The corporate media echo chamber that gives legs to its lies can go on and keep talking to itself for as long as it wants. People are tuning out. In droves. And if you call yourself a progressive and are in step with the DNC, then I’m afraid I’m going to have to call you a liar. You’re being willfully ignorant.

    As for Lieberman….(((vomits)))

    • “Silence helps them so we have to speak and speak loudly.”
      ❤❤❤

And, Yep: Progressives need an infrastructure, and the Greens are what we make of them.

    • Oh, and love Caitlin. We’re pretty closely in sync on the issues, so far.

Time for work. See you on the other side…maybe! I’ve got a doctor’s appointment and then dinner with my sister and niece tonight but will try to check in at some point.

Speaking of moving things , I’d like to move my ass back home .No heat ( will be off until sometime next October ) and no hot water still . They said ten days , it should have been back on by now . Haven’t had to shave with ice cold water in a very long time , since my backpacking days . It still sucks .

Has been awesome , watching the transformation from Winter to Spring , it’s pretty incredible . Beautiful out there , love the birch trees , a good size green belt here by the apartment building , some nice trails to walk . Spotted a freaky lookin owl , I think it was this critter , called a long eared owl .

Now that I’ve bored you cats , I think I’ll go for a walk , will be dark soon , early morning for most of you . .https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/4de504cad67b995ab8edd9513e87c069a69e9167b760155f6b8f158f850d83a6.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0108d24ea3dc282955d69423ceac33a674ea55df00b61b0d9c726af57153e0dc.jpg

Well, watch as one E. Warren and one B. Sanders vote to confirm said nominee. After all, she did vote to confirm Ben Carson.

    • Oh, Warren will definitely fall into line. As befits her position as the DNC’s court jester. They may let Sanders cast a no vote, to maintain his pose, if they’re not too far from the number of votes needed to confirm :

Joe Elmer Fudd Lieberman , head of the FBI , un friggin believable . Yahoo and company could not be happier .

    • Nothing good can come of it, of that I feel assured.

  • notisaidthepig

Unka, have you noticed the date is off at the top of the page?

    • Weird, it’s correct for me. Another “Complicated Theme” issue, added to my list. 🙂

  • notisaidthepig

Unka, have you noticed (again!) that the comments seem to be a bit too far right. 😉 There’s a lot of dead space on the left.

I swear I’m not using this in a symbolic or metaphorical way!

    • Yeah, I apologize. I’m working on getting the theme just right. We’ll be all good by the weekend, I think.

    • That’s what they’ve been telling progressives, in one way or another, since the Rise of the Clinton Right™ in the 90s. 🙁

      • kreskin

Now they are direct about it

  • notisaidthepig
    • kreskin

What lib/ progressive in their right mind could be high on Liz Warren at this point ? She’s as phony as the candidate she endorsed.

  • notisaidthepig

    17!

  • kreskin

We have hot water again ! woohoooo !

    • An unalloyed good, imho

      • notisaidthepig

Good, clean water? If only the people of Flint could get the same.

        • kreskin

          Good, clean water ? I wouldn’t go that far . It’s hot , let’s leave it at that .

Drinking water , water to brush teeth … I filter and boil it .

  • notisaidthepig

I couldn’t get beyond the headline. Because irony.

        Yep.

        They all are .

    • While France has had a (somewhat) mixed record on racism, sadly, in the last decade or two, they’ve been running headlong, as fast as they can, to change that situation.

      • notisaidthepig

I’m having trouble editing stuff. It’s probably a Disqus thing. Sigh.

        • kreskin

          Me too .

  • I can’t say with any surety that all these are factual, and I can’t say with any surety that Rich was murdered by DNC orders, but it’s surely suspicious.

What I can say, with some surety, is that Seth Rich was almost certainly the “Russiagate” leaker, and not some cabal of mythical Russian Hackers.

    • Can’t say I have much sympathy. Tulsi Gabbard is so anti-progressive on LGBTQ issues, the “war on terror,” Syria, and many more. Leaves me lukewarm towards her, at best. 🙁

      • notisaidthepig

That’s why I’ve never been too much of a cheerleader where she’s concerned. I favor Nina Turner. I hope she wins the Ohio governorship and goes on to grace a presidential ticket. Turner’s kind of authenticity is rare; it will resonate with voters.

  • kreskin

Sucks , being on the graveyard shift ( sigh ) . Oh well , it’s a beautiful morning here !

    Sleep well , comrades .
