Doctor-Who-Alternative-FactsDebbie, The Sane Progressive, has a thing or two to say about Cenk/YT’s plan to “retake” the Democratic party, “from within.”

An interview with Greg Pallast, regarding his reporting on the “Cross-Check,” program that TSP mentioned, above.

.What Does Donald Trump Mean for the Police State?

Speculating on the long term policies of the Trump administration and their effects on policing seems a bit premature, but there will be immediate consequences created by the new puppet’s rhetoric.

It means “do your worst, cops! I’ve got your back!”

.Global Discontent With Politics, Neoliberalism and Globalisation Rises

Nearly 70% of people across all countries believe that the economy of their country is totally rigged and in favour of the rich and powerful. Therefore 63% feel that their country needs a strong leader to take back control from the establishment ie rich and powerful elites.

.Down the Rabbit-Hole to Trump’s Victory

There are several key reasons why Donald Trump won, such as that he achieved a 1,405,004 nationwide popular-vote victory in all states except California, where he lost by an enormous 4,260,978-vote margin to
Hillary Clinton (and so Hillary beat him in all 50 states by 2,864,974 votes) — and the Electoral College represents all 50 states, not just one. But not all of the reasons can (like that one) be understood merely by the numbers; and a particularly important reason for his victory has to do with the deepest level of the way that the American people process what they read and see and hear in the nation’s press, and interpret, from the press, what is happening in and to their country. This will be the subject here:

    • Dosido3

Wait, so are you telling me that if we were a separate country, Hillary would be the President of California? arggggghhh.

    • Dosido3

Also, Frontline had a special on DT’s victory. Haven’t watched it yet. I’m afraid my brain might melt.

.‘Outrage!’ 6 journalists including RT reporter face ‘inappropriate’ rioting charges

Several major international press freedom organizations have called for charges to be dropped against six journalists arrested while covering unrest in Washington DC on Donald Trump’s inauguration day last week.
They all now face up to 10 years in prison.

    https://www.rt.com/usa/374978-rubinstein-arrest-charges-outrage/

    • Dosido3

that is outrageous. the comments are a little discouraging – people are going to believe what they want to believe and Trump is their source.

    • Chunga

Given that NC is now trying to outlaw ‘yelling’ at current and former politicians, how long will it be before Congress tries to pass a law saying it is illegal to report on any kind of protest.

      • Dosido3

yelling is a time tested tradition. Look at Parliament, the Signore, etc. I thought R’s were traditional…

      • Dosido3

from now on, congress will should sound like this:

.Why Trump Won’t Scrap ‘Obsolete’ NATO

NATO is the epitome of how the US and its allies refuse to acknowledge a multipolar world comprising nations on an equal basis. NATO is a de facto statement that a select-few of self-anointed nations presume the right to possess nuclear weapons, while other nations are refused this right.

.Russia foiled 70 million cyberattacks in 2016

Of course Western media will have no interest in this revelation whatsoever, as 70 million attacks are primarily Western attacks, with the motherload coming from the US. Note the last paragraph mentioning
where most of the servers are located.

holy crap, WTF is that link? O.O

        • 17

Takes time to figure out what you’re looking at. I’ve seen days when the US is getting blasted with attacks. I’ve tried to find out what’s being hit in upstate NY, and there’s been alot of times when St. Louis is hit hard. The stats / locations tables move too damned fast for me.

.Defense Hawks Headed for Collision with Trump’s Budget Czar

As a candidate, President Donald Trump promised to dramatically increase military spending to pay for tens of thousands of troops, scores of ships, and hundreds of new warplanes. But his pick to oversee the Office
of Management and Budget, Mick Mulvaney, is a dyed-in-the-wool budget stickler who as a lawmaker repeatedly voted against defense spending hikes, referring to one Pentagon account as a “slush fund.”

    http://foreignpolicy.com/2017/01/25/defense-hawks-headed-for-collision-with-trumps-budget-czar/

    • Chunga

It will be interesting to see how long Mr. Mulvaney lasts. More probable is he will begin to cut everywhere else to further bloat the defense budget.

  • Dosido3

I listened to Sane Progressive for a couple of minutes to get the gist – fundraising, no talk about addressing election fraud and no plan. yep yep and yep. My spidey senses say this is astroturfing. Cenk has lost me for good.

    • EdgarHF

I think he is trying to keep his foot in the door. All he is really doing is losing his credibility.

      • Dosido3

Agreed. I’m sure he has some kind of weird ass justification.

    • Seems like every election there’s some group of people who decide access is better than values.

  • EdgarHF

Listening to Democratic Party mouthpieces to me is like listening to a used car salesman trying to sell me a lemon while warning me about the used car salesman next door.
