Chris Hayes has not been the same since he split up with Mr. Peabody and his wayback machine.

    • ROFLMAO!

    • There’s as much pressure to conform into the DNC, if not more, than during the primaries/election. It must be hard on him.

Good grief, letting himself be used as an “attack dog” is absurd on so many levels. The bait and switch on Sarandon is ambush journalism. she handled it really well.

.Foreign Policy and Trump’s Conflicts of Interest

With the turmoil of the first month of Donald Trump’s presidency providing a cascade of headlines and things to be alarmed or outraged about, it is easy to lose sight of any one of those things. It also is hard to sustain an appropriate level of outrage, amid ever more attention-grabbing headlines about the latest turns in the turmoil. One of the things worthy of outrage is Trump’s flouting of ethical standards, with almost no effort made to separate his private financial and business interests from the public interest. This is a major problem even just as far as Trump’s own holdings are concerned, without getting into how the example he sets is ushering into office some cabinet-level appointees, such as his secretary of education, with conspicuous conflicts of interest. Trump’s going through the motions of having his adult sons manage his business does nothing, of course, to ameliorate the problem. Even if one makes the unlikely assumption of no communication between father and sons, it is still Trump’s own wallet that fattens or slims according to how well the business does.

The very idea of any U.S. president putting his personal financial interests ahead of the U.S.national interest, to the extent of refusing to divest himself of overseas business interests, is sufficient reason the public ought to be outraged. To the extent such a conflict of interest affects real U.S. foreign policy decisions, as it well may, this is all the more reason for outrage.

Sheriff Tries to Expose List of 300 Bad Cops, Courts & Union Promptly Block Him

Domestic violence, bribery, theft, excessive force, brutality — these are just a few of the crimes committed by active duty sheriff’s deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. In total, there are 300 deputies with a history of misconduct whom Sheriff Jim McDonnell thinks the public should know about. However, thanks to a protectionist court system and a powerful police union, the crimes of these cops may remain secret.

.The Media Is Ignoring Damning Leaks From Syrian War

When a magician is showing you a magic trick with his or her right hand, you should always watch what the left hand is doing. When it comes to times of war, one should always be skeptical of a government beating the war drum against another government or entity. Ask yourself: Why now, why this entity, and what is at stake?

.Trump’s clarifying moment for Israel and Palestinians

For 15 years, the Middle East “peace process” initiated by the Oslo accords has been on life support. Last week, United States president Donald Trump pulled the plug, whether he understood it or not.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu could barely stifle a smile as Mr Trump demoted the two-state solution from holy grail. Instead, he said of resolving the conflict: “I am looking at two states or one state … I can live with either one.”

Given the huge asymmetry of power, Israel now has a free hand to entrench its existing apartheid version of the one-state solution – Greater Israel – on the Palestinians. This is the destination to which Mr Netanyahu has been steering the Israel-Palestine conflict his entire career.

NATO’s “Success” in Libya, ISIS Replaces Gaddafi

Third week of February marked 6th anniversary of ‘popular’ up-rising in Libya that ultimately led to the overthrow of Gaddafi regime. Thanks to NATO’s intervention and the chaos it left behind, today’s Libya lies in ruins, over-run by a multitude of militias and the self-styled Islamic State. While NATO intervention itself was a drastic failure, as we had previously reported, its aftermath has turned out to be even more devastating, forcing the country to descend into utter chaos. What was previously a reasonably stable Libya is today a picture of extreme debilitation where power cuts are routine, water shortage is acute, inflation rate is sky high and a liquidity crisis is looming large. Not to forget that the country does not have a central government and is being run by a militia whose authority and legitimacy is openly challenged by rival factions.

Could there be a better context for the world’s most ruthless and powerful terror organization, ISIS, to grow and establish control over large swaths of the oil rich country? ISIS emerged in Iraq when the country was in shatters after the US forces hadwithdrawn in 2008-09. Today, ISIS has emerged in Libya when its condition is no different from that of Iraq. This is not a coincidence; for, this is how Western interventionism works and creates chaos in countries that don’t subscribe to its imperialist agendas.

.All aboard reckless bandwagon blaming Russian subversion

Russia is being blamed for interfering in elections across the globe, from the US, Britain, Germany to Estonia and others. Now the tiny Balkan state of Montenegro has jumped on the bandwagon, with an even
more reckless version of the ‘Russia-did-it’ trope.

This week Montenegro’s state prosecutor concluded Russian state agents were not only trying to subvert elections, but the alleged plot also involved the attempted assassination of the former prime minister, to prevent it becoming a member of NATO.

With suspiciously good timing, the far-fetched story was given dubious credibility by Britain’s Telegraph newspaper. The day before the Montenegrin prosecutor made the announcement, the Telegraph published an article in which anonymous “Whitehall sources” issued the same claims of a Russian-sponsored coup attempt in Montenegro during the country’s parliamentary elections last October.

    http://www.counterpunch.org/2017/02/21/goose-stepping-our-way-toward-pink-revolution/ :

“The system the deep state primarily serves is not the United States of America, i.e., the country most Americans believe they live in; the system it serves is globalized Capitalism. The United States, the nation state itself, while obviously a crucial element of the system, is not the deep state’s primary concern. If it were, Americans would all have healthcare, affordable education, and a right to basic housing, like more or less every other developed nation.

The Trump regime (whether they’re sincere or not) has capitalized on people’s discontent with globalized neoliberal Capitalism, which is doing away with outmoded concepts like the nation state and national sovereignty and restructuring the world into one big marketplace where “Chinese” investors own “American” companies that manufacture goods for “European” markets by paying “Thai” workers three dollars a day to enrich “American” hedge fund crooks whose “British” bankers stash their loot in numbered accounts in the Cayman Islands while “American” workers pay their taxes so that the “United States” can give billions of dollars to “Israelis” and assorted terrorist outfits that are destabilizing the Middle East to open up markets for the capitalist ruling classes, who have no allegiance to any country, and who couldn’t possibly care any less about the common people who have to live there.”

    Good morning, everyone!

  • Shohanna

My life is back to chaotic now that I can do things! I been so busy. Went to the Sam’s Club picked up MUCH needed supplies that had run out. Went to doctor appointment for pancreas and found out it’s not quite as bad as my Dr. thought it was (Awesome good news!) He figured I had pancreatitis divisivism. (divided pancreas) and it’s not, the dye he used shows a very narrow passage way in the shape of an S, and it’s narrow enough it was completely blocked from draining. So what he wants to do instead of full out surgery, he wants to put an other stent in the S area and it should keep me good!! O.O

4 to 6 weeks from now he wants to do that procedure! In the meantime I have to take Creon which is suppose to help me with digestion. BUT I can’t take pills and I had asked if I can crush or break open this capsule. He said I could but the box says NO, so I have to call the pharmacy and ask them if it will be painful or bad to do the crushing….

Then I have been summoned to the Social Security office to account for my mismanagement of my nephew’s account b/c I have been Out of Commission. I am hoping they have an understanding policy. I don’t want to get into trouble, but I haven’t had time to do his SS Payee Report. 🙁 Now I have to be accountable. I am taking my medical files with me to show them I have been OOC, and my daughter is going with me so I can prove she has been helping me. God, what penalties can come from this? Any one? **very uncomfortable now**

And on that note, MORNING everyone.. LOL Yes I know it’s 1pm. Shutup.. lol

    • Morning is what you make of it! 😀

Glad to hear things are looking up on the health front.

      • Shohanna

Thank ya! I have even gained a pound! I know that isn’t much but considering how low I got.. It’s good. 😀 99lbs so about 20 more for “normal” I need to make that muscle not fat too. So I need to do it right.
