10-17-1WWIII News

Even the some of the corporate media are beginning to get the jitters about war with Russia.

And Russia is ready, taunting the United States with its biggest naval deployment, ever, sending its entire Northern Fleet and some of its Baltic Fleet to support the assault on Aleppo.

Russia is publicly accusing the US of directing “Cyber Attacks” against critical Russian infrastructure, bringing the likelihood of war even closer.

“If you want a war, you will get one, everywhere – Vladmir Putin.

There is little time before missiles fly.”

Other News

The always excellent Unicorn Riot (you should send them some money!) brings us the latest goings on in the NoDAPL struggle. Also, some enterprising soul et fire to a bunch of the equipment owned by those pipeline fucks. Good on them!

Now that Neoliberalism and Capitalism have all but destroyed the nation, John Milbank and Adrian Pabst ask, “Where do we turn now?”

“The ACLU has identified 23 legal opinions that contain new or significant interpretations of surveillance law — affecting the government’s use of malware, its attempts to compel technology companies to circumvent encryption, and the CIA’s bulk collection of financial records under the Patriot Act — all of which remain secret to this day, despite an ostensible push for greater transparency following Edward Snowden’s disclosures.” They want them disclosed.

Over at Shadowproof there’s a great map of how corporate cash funds the debates.

In more Black Genocide news, a 13-year-old student gets leg amputated after a school official viciously beat him.

The corporate media, again, ponders whether it will intervene in the election, to the benefit of Hillary Clinton.

The God of War, Mars, has slain another spacecraft.

Don’t Call the Pigs: An Informal Guide to Creating an Anarchist Justice System

Anti-police sentiment is on the rise in America and around the world. In the wake of the death’s of Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and countless others (Rest In Power), even the DoJ admits that at least some police departments are highly racist in practice and the Black Lives Matter movement has sprung up in response. Those from all sides of the political aisle have come out against police militarization. Pigs have been routinely denied service at various business establishments across the nation. On the inside, prisoners around the country have been on strike since September 9th, the 45th anniversary of the Attica uprising, with guards having recently gone on a solidarity work strike in support of the prisoners at Holman in Atmore, Alabama. So how do we, as anarchists, help provide tactics in the here and now for dealing with the state’s armed injustice system? But more importantly in the long run, how do we build alternative defense and justice systems?

Our local radio news station is running a “black and blue” series. Yesterday featured the sad thoughts of a daughter of a black Oakland cop (shot in the line of duty) who is afraid to drive her car with her dads memorial stickers on it….

      • 17

That must suck. The only solution is to tell your dad the cop to quit. Do it for the children.

        • Dosido3

Then the cops whine that guys leave the force because gosh people just don’t understand how hard it is to crack skulls and run a good PR game.

          • 17

Think about it. The blue folks wanna kill him coz he’s black, and the black folks wanna kill him coz he’s blue. Shoulda put a toe tag on him from day one.

          • Dosido3

            I know! 🙁

Six months after someone shot eight members of an extended family to death in their homes, surviving relatives are still waiting — for an explanation, for an arrest, for a hint of closure.

Fucking Vox article reporting the “fact” that a foreign power – Russia – has hacked a U.S. election. By Dylan Matthews. Not gonna link it. Sick of these hacks.

Hacks they are . Facts and truths are irrelevant as far as those assholes are concerned.

Someone Set $2 Million in Dakota Access Pipeline Construction Equipment on Fire

For the second time in recent months, someone or some group has set fire to construction equipment at the Dakota Access Pipeline site in Reasnor, Iowa. The incident, which damaged an estimated $2 million in
equipment, is being treated as arson. It’s unclear who set the fire, and there are currently no suspects identified.

      Good.

    • towerofbabel

Could be false flag operation. Just saying.

      • 17

Exactly what I was thinking. You’d think that equipment would have been pretty well guarded/protected. Maybe an insurance job?

Air Force Chief Foresees Decades More of US Wars

In comments yesterday at a spouse and family forum, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein discussed the growing number of airmen being deployed abroad for longer periods of time, saying that this problem is
going to continue for decades to come.

    Armageddon Proportions

The duly democratically elected president of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, asked Russian president Vladimir Putin to come to his country’s aid and defense against the various terrorist factions arrayed against the people and government of Syria.

President Assad did not ask for any intervention from the American government. The might of the US military invaded Syria anyway, claiming they were there to end all terrorist incursions. The facts, however, tell a different story.

    http://www.veteranstoday.com/2016/10/19/armageddon-proportions/

    • kreskin

The U.S. has NO BUSINESS being involved in Syria’s internal affairs . What right does fucking Hussein Obama have to decide who will or will not govern Syria ? He has no such right . Once again , this war and all the suffering and dying that goes with it … is our doing , not Assad’s and not the Russians .

      • towerofbabel

Despite all of the propaganda coming from Washington, I don’t think the American public is randy for war like in 2003. I don’t think the media has done enough preparation–foreplay.

I just looked. I think she’s up to three bottles now.

Has she always been this bad or is she worse since everyone abandoned their blog once we learned what abusive assholes they are?

This government’s false claims about the Russians hacking gives them an excuse to shut down or cut us off from RT news . It’s just a matter of time. .

Key quote which others already know. Voting for Stein and getting her to 15% means ballot access and $10 million in 2020. That’s the long game reason why we should vote third party.

    • towerofbabel

Chris is great. Thanks for posting this.

      • Actually got to see him in person at a debate that Chris Hedges and Jill Stein both attended, when I went to Philly. It was pretty awesome.

Hillary Clinton And Wall Street: Financial Industry May Control Retirement Savings In A Clinton Administration

    http://www.ibtimes.com/political-capital/hillary-clinton-wall-street-financial-industry-may-control-retirement-savings

While Hillary Clinton has spent the presidential campaign saying as little as possible about her ties to Wall Street, the executive who some observers say could be her Treasury Secretary has been openly promoting a plan to give financial firms control of hundreds of billions of dollars in retirement savings. The executive is Tony James, president of the Blackstone Group.

    • Dosido3

      shit.

      • FaunaAndFlora

        Yep.

    • notisaidthepig

I would put money on this one. She’s going to try to kill SS.

  • Well, I came close to fucking it up, and gave myself a $500 scare: I didn’t quite install one of the memory sticks fully and the system would not even beep an error, the fans would start and that was it! Fortunately, after I properly seated the stick, it booted fine, no dzmage to the board, memory or cpu!

Talk about a tense few minutes! And a nice relief after!

Sounds like this would be a good time to share this video by a favorite YouTuber of mine, Dark 5 (the corporation themed videos are not my favorite but they are informative so I do watch them anyway):

    • Krugman is such a cock-juggling thundercunt.

      • Edwin

Not that there’s anything wrong with cock-juggling, but perhaps in it’s entirety the expression goes well beyond just that to something truly evil.

I guess we can use the c-word here. ^_^

        • This isn’t some weird culturally repressive site with weird rules and unstated Heresies. The only rules are: Don’t personally attack another commenter. You’re going to have people disagree with you, get over it. Don’t spread anti-vaccine horseshit.

I’m certainly not going to tolerate any fear of words, here.

          🙂

          • Edwin

You see how abused we have been at the so-called progressive blogs. We’re afraid to comment because of shit like this that sprang up in March to cull the wrong kind of people during the primaries.

We welcome relevant, respectful comments. Any comments that are sexist
or in any other way deemed hateful by our staff will be deleted and

          • Oh yeah, I totally grok where you’re coming from. Been there myself, if you’ll recall. One of the first “casualties” of that war.

          • Edwin

I was sad to see that. We all missed you!

    • notisaidthepig

      My response to Krugman: (((vomits)))

    • towerofbabel

The Clintons are like the Duke and the King in Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn.

      • notisaidthepig

        Excellent. They are!

      • EdgarHF

Would that make the DNC Hadleyburg?

  • Annaleigh

Just did another poll/survey for YouGov (a really short one). Was asked as a millennial if I thought the GOP/Trump or the Dems/Hillary spoke for my generation (of course I selected “strongly disagree” down the list), was asked what I thought about the debates omitting any discussion of climate change and whether I think climate change is more important than the national debt.

And finally I was asked if I agreed that Hillary is a nasty woman. Sadly, I selected “yes.” I felt bad doing it, I don’t want to think that way about the possible first woman president, but it is what it is, and she is who she is…

    • Edwin

      Hillary is a nasty woman

      • notisaidthepig

        Such a misogynist!

        But….but….but….Trump!

        Russia!

        (Have I covered everything?)

      • Annaleigh

I know, I agree. But I find myself cringing when I hear it because it’s painful but true.

        • Edwin

He didn’t say women are nasty he described HER as a nasty woman. It’s true. I loved it. ^_^

    • towerofbabel

That internal conflict is evidence of your (good) values. So you should be proud of that. It has nothing to do with who Hillary Clinton is. It actually makes me sad to think that so many are actually motivated to support her for one of the right reason–wanting a female president to break the pattern of paternalism–even though she she doesn’t deserve that support. Same was true with Obama.

    • Dosido3

I interpret your “feeling bad” as grief and loss. Mainly because in addition to anger and freaking out, that’s how I feel. Hillary has leveraged every card to the hilt for her own self interest. It’s a rip off. She’s the grinch who stole Christmas.

      • Annaleigh

Yeah, I think you’re right…grieving the lost chance to have actually had a president who cares about us, the fact that women were robbed of the chance to actually feel good about a first woman POTUS, all of it. Plus the deep anger and the freaking out. I’ll never forgive that woman or the Democratic Party.

        • Dosido3

          well said…

  • Today’s Daily Links and Open Thread are posted! Enjoy!
