WWIII News

Russian nuclear-powered warships expected to enter UK waters on Friday.

Another corporate media outlet beats the drums, raising the paranoia and war-mongering closer and closer to a fever-pitch.

Russians aren’t backing down in their promise of nuclear war, if the US continues on this path.

Other News

White fear and fragility will be the death of us all.

Donald Trump say he reserves the right to contest the election. Sensible, given Clinton’s history of electoral shenanigans.

On October 20, 2011, Libya’s Muammar al-Gaddafi was brutally murdered by a mob of NATO-backed ‘rebels’, after first being beaten and violated in the most barbaric fashion. Hillary Clinton was a driving force behind it.

Excluded from the third and final presidential debate by the two-party system, Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein took to Facebook Live and Twitter on Wednesday night to offer an alternative point of view. She had nearly 1 million viewers!

The Clinton campaign is flailing in their attempts to criticize their leaked campaign emails.

Your Weekend of Weekends.

UnkaWillbur - May 26, 2017

Here' some links to nosh on, to start of your weekend. I hope everyone's weekend is great; me, myself, I'm planning on jumping out of a perfectly…

Depending on you viewpoint on human motivations this could be seen as an act of integrity or as an act of self-interest. A jaundiced view would say that Dylan has “an interest in disinterest” (Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu) which is how he has built and maintained his mystique. By remaining disinterested he amplifies his cultural capital that he has built as an outsider—always the contrarian. It may be both self-interest and a principled stand, which are not mutually exclusive. I want to believe the best here, and I think the Nobel Prize has run its course.

Bob Dylan removes mention of Nobel prize from website

When I read that he didn’t acknowledge the Nobel Peace Prize at his recent concert, I thought that was so in character for him. It’s pretty congratulatory and he is not a congratulatory kind of guy. It’s a statement, a typical Dylan statement about human condition and empty gestures by institutions that change nothing. He can irritate me no end, but I was pretty proud of his response.

The fact that they gave Hussien Obama the award for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples” cheapened it , turned it into a joke .

        • EdgarHF

Dispite the fact that the blind dog (Nobel Comittee) finds a bone from time to time does not cover over the fact the the ‘prize’ has always been a joke. It is interesting to see how many great authors who should have got one when they were alive, Twain, Tolstoy, etc…, then look at the no names who were awarded the prize.

    Good morning all! TGIF.

PA Makes Police Video Exempt From Public Records Requests

On Wednesday, 10/19/2016, the PA Senate passed a bill which would exempt recordings from law enforcement’s body cameras and dashboard cameras from public records requests. The bill would make it
nearly impossible to obtain footage of police misconduct, or anything that is in the public interest, even if the person requesting it appears in the video.

The Senate approved the bill, 45-5, without debate. It goes to the House of Representatives with just five scheduled voting days left in the legislative session that ends Nov. 30, after which all bills die.

The bill has heavy support from law enforcement organizations. Those organizations include police unions as well as the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association.

Conveniently, the bill does grant an officer the RIGHT to film inside your home without a warrant.

Secret Documents May Soon Unveil Truth Behind How Government Is Spying On You

On Wednesday the American Civil Liberties Union filed a motion with the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court asking the court to release 23 legal opinions related to the U.S. government’s classified
    interpretation of surveillance law.

“These court rulings are essential for the public to understand how federal laws are being construed and implemented,” the ACLU wrote in a statement. “They also show how constitutional protections for personal privacy and expressive activities are being enforced by the courts. In other words, access to these opinions is necessary for the public to properly oversee their government.”

    • Do they mean “The Snowden Papers?” Because they pretty much laid that out for us. 😉 😀

The Unique Human Capacity for War

One characteristic that sets humans apart from other animals is the capability to organize sustained warfare against members of their own species, a troubling fact that connects to the problem of PTSD, says Michael Brenner.

Oh wow everyone, I’m surprised this has yet to be posted, but last night Wikileaks warned Tim Kaine and Donna Brazile (specifically) that Wikileaks has a surprise in store for them:

As a Giants fan who had to endure some obnoxious Cubs fans (what? they don’t know what winning is like?) I find this particularly obnoxious. I’ve outgrown Bill Murray since he cut out Harold Ramis from his life. What a fucking douche.

WikiLeaks Tweets “Heavily Armed Police” Outside Ecuadorian Embassy

“Let’s watch this impending and gross violation of International Law, together, shall we? ”

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-10-21/wikileaks-reveals-heavily-armed-police-gathering-outside-ecuadorian-embassy-london

    • Dosido3

I’m going to be freaking upset if anyone violates the sovereignty of their embassy. And all it will do is blow up in their faces…many more will take Assange’s place and any action will reveal the true nature of TPTB.

      • 17

I’d like to see WikiLeaks cut the bullshit and drop everything they’ve got to everyone everywhere. Fuck protecting innocent agents. They’re soldiers for all that is wrong. Get this fucking party started.

        Thank you very little .

        • Edwin

I thought you might like to see.

      • I thought you’d become a sales representative of the Dove Soap™ company, there for a second. Then I realized I just haven’t added UBlock Origin to this browser yet! Thanks for the reminder! 😀 LOL

        • Edwin

I couldn’t go online without adblocker.

          • It’s a shocking experience, for me, to go online without it. Truly, gut-level offensive. It makes me weep for what it does to the psyches of people who let themselves be subjected to that all the time (both online and off).

          • Edwin

In schools where I’ve worked they use IE and no adblock in the classrooms. I have always had to install a new browser and adblock in each room I taught in.

It’s really weird, but no one in Korea seems to have heard of Firefox or Opera.

    • Edwin

Thanks,Stephanie. Watched it while I whipped up some Eggs Florentine. That’s how long it takes, 26:57 minutes. Now I just have to pop them in the microwave when dinner comes. ^.^

      • Ah, that sounds great.

        • Edwin

Dinner eaten. Good as usual. This time I mixed some cooked broccoli in with the spinach for extra vitamins.

          • Seriously I could bond with you based on the fact that you love veggies I’m a veggie eater myself :^) I’m just surprised that you don’t care to grow them. There’s something really awesome about eating and sustaining nutrients from something that you have grown. I know lack of space 😉

          • Edwin

I do grow a bit of stuff on my rooftop, but there are limits. Also it’s harsh out there because of the intense summer heat on concrete and some years heavy monsoons. ^_^

One year it rained 24 hours a day for 28 days and 70% of my garden turned to green liquid slime. I touched a petunia plant and it “dissolved” into green slime and it had no roots left.

Last year, I grew corn, tomatoes, Korean squash, cucumbers and tomatoes. Everything but the corn and tomatoes died. The corn was great. The tomatoes so-so.

This year I only put corn, tomatoes and herbs. The corn didn’t do well because last year’s crop sucked all the nutrient out of the soil (limited soil up here), but I got a few cobs. The tomatoes were so-so. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/9d74bc24e8225216d318555a9fbee1f390a0daedb3fa7ad7421fd41098dbff7d.jpg

          • Sorry it’s taking me so long to respond. I’ve been taking care of my stepfather, who had eye surgery, and I left my phone over at my parents house.

Yep.. growing vegetables on a rooftop would have its own special challenges for sure.

          • Edwin

There used to be an actual garden as in a raised bed with soil, but water was leaking into the landlady’s house/apt below so she took it out. She worried the leaks were from the garden. Now it’s pots only. 🙁

She grew great veggies in there. (She has passed away now.)

          • You do have to have a good water barrier between the plants and the actual rooftop. I know weight can be an issue too

I’ve never done rooftop gardening, but if I lived in the city I would definitely try to find a place where I could do that.

Sorry for the loss of the lady who grew vegetables 🙁

          • Edwin

I wasn’t close to her, but she was our landlady for a long time. My partner liked that she made homemade kimchi and always gave him some. Young women these days don’t have time to make it and many don’t know how to make it. The average Korean eats very many kilos of it a year.

          • Edwin

PS I even threw in a bit of leftover cabbage to use it up, but it takes away from the rich mix of spinach, cheese sauce and egg yolk. The broccoli is fine though, a nice addition (about 1/3 broccoli and 2/3 spinach.)

          • I love cooking, and I love cooking for people who I love.

Unfortunately as a woman it’s a rare occasion for somebody else to cook for me. Every once in awhile I pout over that 😉

          • Edwin

PS veggies are hands down my favourite food group. So far, the only ones I know I don’t care for are eggplant and okra. The rest = YUM.
